About Me

My photo
God does have a sense of humor, after years of infertility, we adopted 2 beautiful babies, I later had the "surprise baby"! In the very spare time I have, I love to decorate, paint, and make all kinds of things. I do repurpose old furniture and custom paint furniture for clients. I work with all types of vintage items. I love to make our house a home. I like to see how others do it and share what I do also. Contact me at if you are interested in any products I have posted or if you are local to Atlanta and want a furniture face lift! Love your old junk again!

Vintage China, Stripped Down Wood and a Dining Room on the Rebound

I have been eating, and napping and playing with the my bear cubs. I feel like a big, old, grizzly mama that has been hibernating! I can't believe how fast the holidays have flown, New Year's is upon us, kids will be back in school and I have a bunch of furniture to get ready for sale! I have some neat pieces to show you,  antique makeovers and new furniture face lifts. My business is in full swing and I am very excited about 2012! I gave my page a little face lift on the background and will be adding my for sale items soon. I have been taking some of Christmas down. It will probably take a week to get it all put away. Remember how I told you my dining room used to be a classroom. Well, I am slowly getting it back to dining room status. I am blessed to have had 2 precious grandmothers who loved china, glassware, tea sets, I have inherited some great things to work with. Also, I happen to love vintage, homey, farmhouse chic things. It all works for me.
Another thing I want to show you, I know I love to break out the paint, and slap it on the wood. I do know when wood should be left alone. ha ha! I have a hand me down, antique, ice chest. It had years of shellac on it, pretty shiny and very yellow, but not good yellow, it's oak. My husband and I decided to just have it stripped down. I was going to paint it.....but then I really liked the bare wood, and we just left it, as is...gasp.......Here it is, sweet little china saucers, and stripped down ice chest..and my favorite furniture face lifts from A Little Country House 2011....enjoy! Happy New Year Peeps! If you read this.....I really , really appreciate you!

these make me wanna have a tea party.....with little people...

the cool thing about these shelves, I can change what is on them when I feel like it...

Sweet Simple Sundays-The Real Christmas.......

Yesterday was my daughter's 10th birthday. I am blessed to be the mom of such an extraordinary human being...... We had the privilege of adopting her 9 years ago! She is the definition of angel...
The sweet today, is her leftover vanilla, coconut birthday cake. Coconut is her know she is a special kid to love coconut! It was delicious.....It came from Publix....sometimes we make the cake, and sometimes, we go to Publix, cause it is gooood!!

The sweetest girl you will ever meet!

This is a re post from my personal blog from December 2010, but I had to do it again, This is my favorite song of the season, and the lyrics, though simple, speak deeply of God's true love for all of us and His perfect, unending, gift......Take time to breathe Him in....deepen your relationship with him, and if you don't know Him, read these lyrics and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. He is waiting to give you the ultimate gift.......

Welcome to Our World

Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You've been promised, we've been waiting

Welcome Holy Child
Welcome Holy Child

Hope that you don't mind our manger
How we wish we would have known
But long-awaited Holy Stranger
Make yourself at home
Please make your self at home
Bring your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
Word now breaking Heaven's silence

Welcome to our world
Welcome to our world

Fragile fingers sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
Unto us is born
So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy

Perfect Son of God
Perfect Son of God
Welcome to our world

I love that! I ponder that. It is true! He wrapped our flesh around himself, walked among us and robbed our sin and made us holy on that cross!

From Italian Stallion to Farmhouse Fabulous!!!

Hey Loves,

Remember, the" bad boy", Mediterranean, 1971 china cabinet? I have been working on it, with my peep, Cindy. Well, he is done! Well, done.. except for the crystal hardware coming his way, to compliment the beautiful, crystal chandelier hanging above him...Anyway....He is lookin pretty fine! I have to say, painting over that wood, was so satisfying! He is now painted, Annie Sloan- Old Ochre, with Martha Stewart Seaglass, inside, on the back panel. We felt a beautiful, watery, blue-green would compliment all Cindy's gorgeous china. Brown transferware, red transferware, cream stoneware, and more.... like I said, pretty dishes!! So, here he is.......and if you want your china cabinet face lifted, or anything else..... email me at!
Enjoy! Love!

Here we go....the inside panel looks 70's gold....this thing is from 1971!

are ya sure???? Yeah, you are going down!!!

already feelin better!!!

This thing is way too heavy to move again, We put a tent on, I got the sander, and let her rip!!

Now, we put the heavy hardware back on, just to see, but we are going crystal....

a little distressing.....

Seaglass-Martha Stewart

now your talking!!!

Hey there, Gentleman, so nice to meet ya!!

Shabby Fab!!!

had to show, just cause it is pretty!!!
More pics of this room when it gets all put together!!! Beautiful!!!!!
