About Me

My Photo
God does have a sense of humor, after years of infertility, we adopted 2 beautiful babies, I later had the "surprise baby"! In the very spare time I have, I love to decorate, paint, and make all kinds of things. I do repurpose old furniture and custom paint furniture for clients. I work with all types of vintage items. I love to make our house a home. I like to see how others do it and share what I do also. Contact me at alittlecountryhouse@gmail.com if you are interested in any products I have posted or if you are local to Atlanta and want a furniture face lift! Love your old junk again!

TV Cabinet Turned Craft/ Supply Closet

Hello Peeps! I have been working on another project. My sweet friend, Penny, had a TV cabinet she no longer wanted and called me. I said of course, I will take it, I can do "something" with it. It seems since everyone is getting flat screens, people are losing the big armoires and cabinets that held the old TVs. I know that a lot of these cabinets are good furniture that still have a purpose, they just need a new purpose.

I have been wanting to convert one into a craft/school supply cabinet. We have these supplies, scattered thru out different places in the house, and I saw on Pinterest, some armoires turned home office. Why not, do one for the kids?? Of course you could make it a mini-office too.
So, since the furniture was free, I decided to splurge a little on the paint. I used Annie Sloan Old White, and regular chalkboard paint on the inside doors, in a slate gray. I found some cheapy, ready made, black shelves. My hubby cut those down, to fit inside the cabinet. I changed out the hardware, added some metal numbers to the front doors, and  mounted a vintage pencil sharpener on one door.  I organized supplies into some different containers, like metal buckets, jars, etc... and boom....craft and school supplies have one place to live and I can close the cute doors and hide it all...Heaven...... It just happens that www.luckettsstore.blogspot.com is showing off organized spaces from Pinterest inspirations this week, check that out as well! Very cool ideas!

Out of sight, out of mind......I likey!!!! Enjoy! Love!

My Re-do!

My Inspiration, off Pinterest

Very Clever!

What I started with, white and pink, it came from
a little girl's playroom

Cute, but not for me...

the entire thing was once this terrible color of gangrene???

I added the black shelves, and did slate gray chalkboard paint on
the inside of the doors

look at all the organization!! I feel so good! You want glue or scissors
or a crayon??? I know where they are now!

You are digging my vintage 1959 pencil sharpener, aren't ya
It still works good too! actually I don't know how old it is,
but it is really old.....

Side view.....

How bout my 2.97 knob??

or my 1.48 house number!!!

She's a keeper!!

I just close those doors and hide the mess, and believe me, in a bout a week....
it will look like a bomb went off in there, but for now...
Bliss!!!
Enjoy the weekend!

Love the cabinet. I need one because I have no storage and my craft stuff is everywhere!

The Numbers on the front are a great simple graphic touch.
