When LIFE is Happening....

Hi My Sweet Bloggy Friends,

It has been quite exciting around here. On Saturday evening, around 8:00, the kids and I were having a cartwheel contest in the backyard! The weather was so great and we just played outside all day. Well, on the last roll of cartwheels, my 10 year old daughter breaks her arm, at the elbow! I had gone inside to put the boys in the bath, when my other 10 year old girl comes in to say, "I think Mia hurt herself". Mia is now,  walking in behind her, with what looks like a bone trying to stick out of her elbow area! I, trying to remain calm, and not flip out, say "um....yes, she is hurt. Let's gently walk to the car, we need to go to the doctor....NOW!!!!! We have awesome neighbors, who came right over to stay with the other 4 kids.  Mike , drove like Richard Petty,(yes, my references are 70's and 80's people) to the children's hospital, while I held her in the back seat, trying to calm her, because now the adrenaline she had is wearing off, and she is beginning to feel extreme pain.......We finally pull in the emergency room 35 minutes later. I have to say, our children's hospital is the best, cause they had her in a room, getting pain medicine and a bed, within 10 minutes of walking thru the door! Incredible service!!! Thank you, Lord!!! We were there, until 3:30 a.m.  My sister and sister-in-law, who are wonderful, came to my house and took over with the other kids, knowing we would be gone all night..... Mary Elle (Mia, we call her) does have a broken elbow, and we are seeing the orthopedic specialist in the morn, for her permanent cast.  She has been an angel. She has not once complained. Takes everything as it comes. She really is a Steel Magnolia.  Now, if it had been one of the boys....They would still be hysterical about their arm.....They are much more drama, than the girls around here. I love my boys, but they are not able to roll with the punches, as easily, as the girls.  Do females, in general, just accept difficulty, more readily than males???  Maybe, it is a trait God gives us, to cope with raising kids and all the hardships that will come with it????? Well, change in spring break plans here, for sure!!  Don't think I will be getting any work done either. That is OK, though. I am really enjoying catering to her, and spending alone time with her, cause with 5, no one really gets much one on one time.....unless you are sick or injured, lol!!! Oh, and our car had to go in the shop yesterday, too.......and the air conditioning stopped working in the house.....I think that is pretty much it...... Life Happens.....How are things with yall ;)..... Happy Easter Everyone! Glad we got Jesus!!! Hope your week is uneventful......Love!

Didn't wanna leave ya with no pics.....Our humble home and awesome family, kickin around on a Saturday.....

Richard Petty, and all the kids....

this tree came in the mail, as a sapling, 10 yrs ago...
I didn't think it would make it, but it's beautiful now!

Yard bunny, the boys have knocked the ears off with their baseball bats!
I glue them back......I took the bats for awhile....they seem to be leaving the bunny alone now....

Sweetest girl, you will ever meet! Pre-broken elbow...

last of the tulips, the blooms have fallen now....

Springing into Spring, but no more CARTWHEELIN!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness! Sorry about your daughter's arm, sounds so painful! I remember doing cartwheels inside the house, traveling from room to room as a child. Ha!
The picture of your home is beautiful!!! Also, your children are precious. I know you're proud. :)
Happy Easter!

So So sorry for the broken elbow, OUCH, makes mine hurt just thinking about it!! Sounds like YOU are a Steel Magnolia yourself, and handled everything perfectly, and in stride. Blessed Easter to you and your beautiful family, and prayers for you all in the painful elbow :).
