About Me

My photo
God does have a sense of humor, after years of infertility, we adopted 2 beautiful babies, I later had the "surprise baby"! In the very spare time I have, I love to decorate, paint, and make all kinds of things. I do repurpose old furniture and custom paint furniture for clients. I work with all types of vintage items. I love to make our house a home. I like to see how others do it and share what I do also. Contact me at alittlecountryhouse@gmail.com if you are interested in any products I have posted or if you are local to Atlanta and want a furniture face lift! Love your old junk again!

Fresh Paint!

While 3 of my littles went to summer camp, I decided to paint the master bedroom. It has not been painted since 99. Needless to say, the walls were very smudgy. I am 3/4 done and wanted to show you a sneak peek. I also changed some furniture and accessories, etc.... I am also going to give my headboard a makeover. I will show you  the whole thing, maybe next week??? My babies are coming home today, I enjoyed a couple days of quiet, but now I am missing them so bad! This was their first time away at summer camp. Here are some pics, enjoy...and stay outta they heat today, gettin into the 100 degree level here in the south!

Campers!

walls were a periwinkle blue....

Now, Martha Stewart, Whetstone Gray
the desk was a denim blue, I spray painted it Warm Gray.
Spray paint is under-rated. There are some great colors out there
and it is easy!

I have these 100 year old doors. I use one on my back deck, the other
I have in my room. I can't decide if I am painting it. Thinking......

Recycled Goodness and 20 years of Magic.....

I have a client who has a charming cottage-style house that she is decorating, and we are doing some barn wood furniture. I did a kitchen table of recycled materials for her in a previous post. This is an end table to go in her living room. She has khakis, grays, greens, cream and a lil barn red. I found the table base, and hubby built a new (old) top out of wood from a horse stall. This is similar to the lake table we did. Lightly distressed, barn red with dark wax all over and a vintage pull for the drawer.  I have included pics below , the end table, the kitchen table and the bench.
Just thought I would also mention.... Wednesday was our 20th wedding anniversary. That is a milestone. We have been a family for 20 years! Mike whisked me away for a great day and night at the lake. I am thankful for a wonderful man who loves me and my children. God is good!

More Barn Red !

It's no secret, I love red. Especially barn red. It really accents farmhouse chic for me. Whenever I see red that catches my eye, I pin it! A client gave me an old headboard to re-do for her. It was a very old, dirty white. I sanded it all down and then painted it barn red. I did leave a little of the "before", on an accent piece on the foot board of the bed. Lightly distressed. I also am showing off some flower planters. These were teacher gifts I did for the end of school. Pops of red! It all looks like summer to me. I love it! Enjoy!

Vintage Head and foot board for a vacation guestroom, I see a great quilt with this!

the whole bed once looked like the little covered wagon. The paint was peeling off so bad, I stripped the bed
but I thought it was neat to leave the wagon messy....I cleaned it up and sealed it, so it would stay in tact.

New Again!

Geraniums!

Apple baskets and metal tubs for the containers

I stenciled their initial on a card

clothes pins are cute for attaching a card too!
